The 'Dilliwalla' Project

To be inspired is a privilege and to inspire, a duty.

I believe that I am one of those people who was born to roam, to travel and to explore. Why? Because my father raised me so. A writer by choice, I would like to believe that I am a traveller by intuition and a soul-searcher by profession. It is in this strange quest for purpose that I found my inspiration - Mayank Austen Soofi (http://www.thedelhiwalla.com/)

Soofi who? A wonderful writer and an avid traveller with a keen sense of the city. That is actually what drew me to his writing. A feel of the culture that gives character to the city of Delhi - a metropolis here, and a mughal town there.

Add to my passion for travelling and a spark for adventure through Soofi's writing, a dash of Hollywood and the result is this blog. How, you wonder? Well ask Julie & Julia!

Just like Julie does in the movie, (she blogs her experiences when trying out recipes from master-chef Julia's cookbooks) I too, will experience the travels of Mayank Austen Soofi, and blog my experiences. All this, in an attempt to explore Delhi and in some Hollywood-ish way find a new meaning in life (and perhaps become a professional writer with fans, like Julie does at the end of the movie, but oh well, no pressure there!).

Before I begin on this quest for the known and the unknown but my own Delhi, I dedicate this effort to my Dad, who left us June 12, 2010. He was an adventurer and this one's for him.

So, here's looking forward to a great year ahead, full of travel, blogging and exploring! Holler if you read me, folks!
